- A study by Dr. Alan Hirsch, Smell & Taste Research Foundation, Chicago, researched the effects of odors on product perception: One of the tests consisted of Nike sneakers in two different rooms, one with unscented air, the other scented with a mixed floral smell…84% of people in the study said they were more likely to buy the shoes, or liked them more in the scented room and many said they would pay about $10 more for the product in the scented environment!

- In a Las Vegas casino, the Research Foundation infused a pleasant scent into an area containing slot machines. It then compared the amount of money played in the slots over several weekends with the amounts played during times with no added scent. Total revenues during the scented weekends were 45.11% higher!
